After TheLab returned in August with the ItemChaos mode, a new game mode is coming to our lab today. In LavaEscape, you don't just have to fight enemies. A new, hot threat is waiting below you, and it's getting closer and closer.

How does LavaEscape work?

Do you remember the “The floor is lava” trend just before the coronavirus pandemic, where everyone was avoiding touching the floor within seconds? LavaEscape takes this game to the next level.

At the beginning, each player spawns on their own chunk, which is surrounded by a border. The game starts with a grace period during which you are inside your own border.

But you don't have much time to rest: There is lava under your feet, and it is already slowly rising. So, don't waste your time and get equipped: you can mine blocks in your chunk and use them to escape the lava. Between the blocks, you will find some resources that you can use to prepare for the upcoming battle. There is also loot in the middle that you should grab as fast as possible. Not only are your opponents after it, but the lava will soon reach the middle and engulf it.

As you build your way up, more islands will spawn, giving you additional equipment to prepare you for your opponents.

How does this fight work?

After 60 seconds, the grace period is over and your border disappears. Now you can fight your opponents above the chunks around you. The last man standing wins the game.

Over the time, the lava rises more slowly and reaches its maximum height after a while. As long as you don't fall off the paths built in the sky, you are now safe from it. But the large world border around the chunks is now slowly getting smaller, pushing you closer and closer to your opponents who are out to get you. Here, the rule is again: Whoever is the last one standing will win the game.

Can't I just hide from the fights?

But if you're planning to sneak around and hide in a capsule made of blocks, you better keep the final countdown in mind: Once the lava has stopped, you have two minutes to kill as many players as possible during a massacre up in the air. After those two minutes, the game will end, and whoever has the most kills will win. So face your opponents and get as many kills as possible!

As you can see, every phase of the game is full of action. You have to come up with a good strategies right from the start in order to collect enough equipment and, even more important, blocks in a short time.
